In order to ensure the highest quality care and to your exact instructions, we do not share cat or home care duties with any other persons besides The Comforted Kitty cat sitter you have hired to provide such care. This is based off of many past experiences that put the safety and welfare of the cat and home at serious risk and so we are strict about this policy.
Payment for sittings booked must be paid in full before the start of the first scheduled sitting. We welcome accepting the following payment methods: direct credit card or ACH bank transfer via your Time To Pet software portal, Venmo, Chase QuickPay, Zelle, Square Cash, Google Pay.
For the health and safety of your cat and home, we do not accept visits less frequent than once daily.
Regarding your home keys, we request two working copies be provided at the time of the initial consultation meet and greet (one set as a backup in case the other is lost or other emergency occurs). If you are not able to provide a second set, please let us know so that we can discuss other options for a backup set.
If your apartment complex does not allow duplicating the necessary keys or fobs or you are otherwise unable to give us a single set at the initial consultation, a $10 pickup fee will be charged for the sitter to pick them up from you at a later date before the start of the first scheduled sitting.
If you choose not to have us hold your keys on file for future sitting requests, a $10 key pickup fee will apply the next time you request services. If you choose to have us return the keys at a later date, a $10 key return fee will apply.
Alternatively, we welcome having keys stored securely in a lockbox for the sitter to retrieve on the first visit and return to it on the last visit. This avoids all of the fees and extra liability noted above. And it makes things very simple to coordinate for future sitting requests.
Please note we do not allow clients to drop off or pickup keys from an employee’s home for privacy reasons.
Coordination of keys must be made at least 3 days prior to trip departure.
If your cat requires medication, be sure to notify us in advance so that we can confirm we have a sitter available to administer particular medications (such as ointments, pills, injections, etc.). There is no additional charge but services may be limited based on the temperament of your cat.
Upon your return home, we request that you contact us via email, text, or phone. If we do not hear from you within 24 hours from the last scheduled sitting, we will visit with your cat to ensure they are safe. This will be charged as a normal visit rate.
We try very hard to accommodate last minute requests. However, we cannot guarantee such requests as it usually requires rearranging planned schedules.
Service requests submitted less than 24 hours prior to first sitting incur a $35 rush fee
In the event that your cat requires immediate, emergency medical attention, our sitters will make every effort to notify you before approving veterinary care at your specified emergency vet office. If this office is unavailable, your cat will be taken to the nearest 24 hour emergency vet office. If we cannot reach you, we will try contacting your emergency contacts. We will keep you informed throughout treatment. Cat owner is responsible for payment and reimbursement for all veterinary costs upon their return.
All time spent by the sitter, such as transporting the cat, waiting at the vet office, and picking up medication will be charged at the rate of $32 per 30 minutes
We request that the cat owner provide the necessary amounts of food, treats, litter bags, medication (if necessary), and other necessary supplies to last through the entire scheduled visits period. If supplies run out and it is necessary for the cat sitter to purchase additional supplies, client will be charged for the reimbursement of the cost of the goods as well as a $30 pickup fee. During holiday periods, the fee is $60, due to the severe time constraints.
We would be more than happy to schedule additional consultations at the client’s request. Each additional consultation is $15. On designated holidays, there is an additional $15 holiday fee ($30 fee total).
Veterinary trips for emergency treatment, wait time for emergency home repair, search for cat(s) that escaped confinement, and other special circumstances are charged at a rate of $32 per half-hour sitter is working for the client.
There are NO cash refunds or credits given for a client returning home early from a trip. This is in consideration of the schedule the sitter has carefully planned out in advance.
Cancellation of a sitting with less than 48 hours notice from the scheduled start date of the sitting will incur a $25 fee. The remaining payment will be held on file as credit for future sitting requests. We do NOT offer cash refunds. This policy applies only to dates not specified in the holiday periods listed below.
*Please note: There are no cash refunds or credits given for early returns during the holiday periods listed below.
For any sitting requests during the Thanksgiving holiday period (November 25 – December 1) and Christmas/New Year’s holiday period (December 18 – January 3, 2019), we require a 3 daily visits minimum order.
