Cat Cafés in Nevada

by | Sep 22, 2022

Cat cafés have become quite popular since they were introduced in 1998 in Taipei, Taiwan. Many more have opened in the last couple of decades, not just in China and Japan, but around the world, including Spain, Germany, and the United Kingdom. There are over 125 cat cafés in the United States alone, including cafés in each of the states we have branches, California, Arizona, and Nevada. These establishments not only offer visitors the opportunity to interact with cats in a safe and welcoming environment but many also help ensure that friendly, adoptable cats are given their best opportunity at finding a new home.

While cat cafés in a few countries are populated mainly by permanent residents, the marjority of cat cafés in this country, and many in other countries, also offer homeless cats an opportunity to find their new forever homes. They are both a great option for people who are unable to care for a cat but still wanting feline friendship and a fantastic place to support homeless cats and possibly find their next furbaby.

The Cafés

Cat cafés have become more popular in the last decade or so, and although they experienced a downturn during the Covid-19 pandemic, many have rallied. Nevada is home to several wonderful shops where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in a feline-filled space. Here’s what you need to know

Enchanted Cat Café
8555 Double R Blvd
Suite 104
Reno, NV 89511
(775) 418-9700

The Enchanted Cat Café is Reno’s first and so far only cat café. They have both a cat lounge, where the cats themselves spend their time, and a café area with drinks and an assortment of pastries for customers. The café area is even suitable for cat lovers who happen to be allergic to cats as it is completely separate from the lounge and has several air purifiers running. The cats that customers meet in the lounge are all adoptable cats from Tails in Transition (TNT) Rescue, a group that focuses on small animals that are in danger of being euthanized.

Open from 10 am to 6 pm every day except Wednesdays, they offer both walk-in and reserved sessions. As they are limited to ten people per hour-long session, Enchanted Cat strongly recommends making reservations in advance. Children of all ages are welcome at this café, but those younger than 16 years old need to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
